About Well-Read Travelers

Well-Read Travelers was founded by Q Ostendorf and Shannon McHugh, two friends who met in graduate school at NYU and bonded over a love of literature and travel as they completed their studies and built their academic careers. 

Q Ostendorf (left) is a Resident Assistant Professor at Occidental College in Los Angeles whose research and teaching interests include everything from gender and sexuality to romance novels to, of course, Shakespeare. You can find out more about one of Q’s other endeavors at yogawithq.com.

Shannon McHugh (right) is Assistant Director of Research at The Huntington Library in San Marino, California, and a scholar of French and Italian Renaissance literature. Her research has taken her everywhere from the Vatican Secret Archives to the Disney Imagineering Library.
